Hospital execs see jump in compensation

Hospital and health system CEOs, CFOs and COOs saw increases in total cash compensation from 2017 to 2018, according to a survey from SullivanCotter.

SullivanCotter collected data from over 2,000 organizations, representing about 32,000 executives and managers. The report found increases in total cash compensation for executives across different kinds of hospitals and health systems.

Here are the increases in median total cash compensation from 2017-18 for CEOs, CFOs and COOs of independent health systems and system-owned hospitals:

Independent health systems

CEO: 3.6 percent increase

CFO: 4.3 percent increase

COO: 3.5 percent increase

System-owned hospitals

CEO: 2.8 percent increase

CFO: 3 percent increase

COO: 4.2 percent increase
