16 Statistics: Salaries and Cash Compensation for Hospital and System CFOs

CFOs of independent hospitals and health systems make considerably more than their CFO counterparts at hospitals and health systems that are subsidiaries of another organization.

For example, in 2013, independent hospital CFOs reported median total cash compensation of $235,500 — 4.4 percent more than subsidiary hospital CFOs.

The data come from the 2013 National Healthcare Leadership Compensation Survey, conducted by Integrated Healthcare Strategies and co-sponsored by the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.

Here are 16 statistics from the survey on salary and total cash compensation for hospital and health system CFOs. Note: Data is based on more than 1,350 participating hospitals and health systems and 701 CFO respondents. Compensation figures are effective Feb. 1, 2013.
