Welch (W.Va.) Community Hospital is looking to close its long-term care unit, according to the West Virginia health department.
The closure of the 59-bed unit is part of the hospital’s transition to the West Virginia University Health System, according to the news release. A hearing to discuss the closure will be held June 15. Staff members are working to place residents in new facilities.
Morgantown-based WVU Medicine took over the hospital in January.
