New Orleans-based Ochsner Health, a 46-hospital system, has joined Hall of Fame Health as its exclusive partner in the Gulf South region.
The partnership, led by an medical director, Christopher White, MD, will provide Hall of Fame Health members access to all of Ochsner's specialties and treatments. Primary care and family medicine services will be prioritized so member families can stay healthy, remain active, stay ahead of potential health problems and manage chronic conditions.
"At Ochsner, we treat patients from all walks of life and are very experienced with the unique healthcare needs of professional athletes," Dr. White said in an April 3 news release. "We are thrilled to be able to connect them and their families with the many services our health system provides."
Hall of Fame Health, which began as an initiative of Pro Football Hall of Fame members, focuses on caring for former professional football players and their families, many of whom often face healthcare challenges without the resources available to them during their playing years.
