A new partnership between IBM Watson and Siemens Healthineers, the new name for Siemens Healthcare, intends to boost healthcare providers' population health efforts by offering solutions and services from IBM Watson Health.
The five-year partnership will leverage Siemens' technology-driven innovations and IBM Watson's cognitive computing healthcare offerings. The offerings seek to meet hospital and healthcare systems' demands for value-based care analytics and reporting, as well as patient engagement.
"Combining our strengths, Siemens Healthineers and IBM can effectively help providers transition to a value-based healthcare environment," Matthias Platsch, head of services at Siemens Healthineers, said in a statement. "We will enter the rapidly growing population health management market which is expected to play a significant role in end-to-end value-based healthcare."
