Hawaii is the highest-ranked state for overall health in 2018 while Louisiana is the lowest-ranked state, according to a report from the United Health Foundation.
The annual America's Health Rankings report assesses the country's health state by state. To determine the overall health rankings, the report analyzed a set of behaviors, community and environmental conditions, policies, clinical care and outcomes data. The report examines 35 core measures in these categories.
The five highest-ranked states for overall health in 2018:
- Hawaii
- Massachusetts
- Connecticut
- Vermont
- Utah
The five lowest ranked-states for overall health in 2018:
- Arkansas
- Oklahoma
- Alabama
- Mississippi
- Louisiana
