Yale names director of cardiac cath labs

Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital has selected Jeptha Curtis, MD, to serve as medical director of cardiac catheterization laboratories. He will also serve as director of coronary interventions for Yale New Haven Health System. 

Dr. Curtis joined the faculty at Yale School of Medicine in 2004 and is an associate professor of medicine. In his new role, he will oversee cardiac cath lab operations at Yale New Haven Hospital, with a focus on updating infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, leading quality improvement efforts, and advancing knowledge through scientific discovery, the hospital said March 21. 

Dr. Curtis previously served as the inaugural medical director for performance improvement for the hospital's heart and vascular center. His research focuses on the intersection of invasive cardiology, novel technologies and quality measurement. He also currently serves as chief scientific advisor of the American College of Cardiology's National Cardiovascular Data Registry. 

Dr. Curtis earned his medical degree at Columbia University in New York City and completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at Yale.
