Selma, Ala.-based Vaughan Regional Medical Center opened a $2.5 million catheterization lab Nov. 1, the Selma Times-Journal reported.
The 963-square-foot lab features advanced imaging equipment to treat a variety of heart disorders.
"The faster patients can get access to lifesaving interventions — and this cath lab facilitates such interventions — the greater the chances of survival and recovery with minimal heart damage," Vaughan Regional Medical Center CEO David McCormack told the Times-Journal.
