Sumter, S.C.-based Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital is building a cardiology center and expanding its emergency room, ABC affiliate WLTX reported Nov. 3.
The heart center will have 21 exam rooms and be staffed by four cardiologists. It will provide services from diagnosing issues to after-surgery care, according to the report.
Tuomey is also waiting on the state to grant them a certificate of need in order to perform emergency angioplasty, which allows doctors to open a clogged artery.
Tuomey also plans to expand its emergency department throughout the next year, hospital leaders told WLTX.
