Warren, Ohio-based Trumbull Regional Medical Center has opened a congestive heart failure clinic to improve patients' quality of life through education and treatment.
Lifestyle changes and drug therapy will be a key part of treatment plans to improve patients' quality of life. The clinic also aims to prevent hospitalization and readmission.
"The CHF Clinic will help educate patients on their conditions and improvements that can be gained through optimal management of medications, diet and exercise," said Shyam Bhakta, MD, interventional cardiologist and medical director of the new clinic. "Through close monitoring and follow-up, we will work with patients to set and meet goals."
The clinic is intended as a supplement to a patient's primary care physician and cardiologist. It is open on Tuesdays to congestive heart failure patients who have recently been discharged from the hospital and chronic heart failure patients.
