NewYork-Presbyterian Queens gets new chief of cardiothoracic surgery

Iosif Gulkarov, MD, has been selected to be the new chief of cardiothoracic surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian in Queens, N.Y., according to an Oct. 17 news release.

His appointment to the role began Oct. 1. Dr. Gulkarov transitioned into the role after previously serving as the hospital's vice chief of cardiothoracic surgery.

He has been with NewYork-Presbyterian since 2022 after departing a role at RWJBarnabas Health.

Alongside his new role as the chief of cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Gulkarov will continue to work as an associate professor of clinical cardiothoracic surgery at the Weill Cornell Medicine, according to the release.
