Hospitals with the lowest return days for heart attack patients

Becker's compiled a list of the hospitals with the highest and lowest hospital return days for heart attack patients.

CMS collected provider data for measures of hospital return days, unplanned readmissions and unplanned hospital visits after outpatient procedures. Data was collected from July 2019 through June 2022. (Note: Data from the first and second quarters of 2020 were not reported due to the pandemic). CMS updated the data April 24.

Here are the hospitals with the highest and lowest hospital return day scores:

Meadowview Regional Medical Center (Maysville, Ky.) — -43.2

St. Francis Medical Center (Lynwood, Calif.) — -41.3

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (Bradenton, Fla.) — -38.9

Trinity Regional Medical Center (Fort Dodge, Iowa) — -37.8

MercyOne Clinton (Iowa) Medical Center — -36.5

Saint Francis Bartlett (Tenn.) Medical Center — -35.2

Menorah Medical Center (Overland Park, Kan.) — -34.9

Sequoia Hospital (Redwood City, Calif.) — -34.6

Baton Rouge (La.) General Medical Center — -33.8

The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore) — 67

SSM St. Joseph Hospital West (Lake Saint Louis, Mo.) — 61.6

St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital (Newburgh, N.Y.) — 61.6

Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (Edinburg, Texas) — 61.6

Rochester (N.Y.) General Hospital — 58.9

Boston Medical Center — 57.9
