Florida system raises $154M toward heart center

Naples, Fla.-based NCH Healthcare System has raised $154 million toward its $200 million heart and stroke center, Naples News reported June 22.

Tom Golisano is the latest philanthropist to contribute to the project, with a $5 million grant.

The system has been working on the project since 2021 but has yet to receive approval from the city of Naples. Officials say the project will provide cardiac care to thousands of patients. It is expected to have four neuro-interventional radiology suites for emergency and nonemergency care for stroke, cerebral aneurysms and carotid artery disease. The center will also treat other conditions, according to the report.

In May, the philanthropic foundation established by Best Buy founder Dick Schulze donated $20 million.
