American Society for Preventive Cardiology to honor 3 cardiologists

The American Society for Preventive Cardiology will recognize three cardiologists at the 2024 Congress on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, according to a June 4 news release from the organization.

Noel Bairey Merz, MD, director of the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute in Los Angeles, will receive the Nanette Wenger Award. 

Sergio Fazio, MD, PhD, vice president and chair of the Scientific Council and Global Clinical Development at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and the first editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology, will receive the Joseph Stokes III, MD Pioneer in Prevention Award.

Chris Cannon, MD, a professor at Harvard Medical School in Boston, will receive the Honorary Fellow Award.
