- Los Angeles-based Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai welcomed four specialists to its department of cardiology:
- interventional cardiologist Dr. Aakriti Gupta
- electrophysiologists Eric Braunstein, MD, and Archana Ramireddy, MD
- adult congenital cardiologist Dr. Prashanth Venkatesh
- Azmi Atiya, MD, was named medical director of cardiac surgery at Los Angeles-based Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, part of the Smidth Heart Institute.
- Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Physician Network welcomed interventional cardiologist Dr. Wisam Martini.
- Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center, a facility of RWJBarnabas Health, appointed Raashan Williams, MD, to medical director of the catheterization laboratory.
- Browns Mills, N.J.-based Deborah Heart and Lung Center named Dr. Gregory Domer chair of vascular surgery.
- Newark (N.J.) Beth Israel Medical Center appointed Dr. Claudia Gidea medical director of heart transplant, mechanical circulatory support and advanced heart failure.
