Timothy Swain, MD, cardiothoracic surgeon, and Martha Drake, DNP, nurse practitioner, have joined the team of heart specialists at Michigan City, Ind.-based Franciscan Physician Network Heart Center, reports community homepage What's New LaPorte?
Dr. Swain has fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery from Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pa., and University of Rochester (N.Y.) and Strong Memorial Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery in Rochester. His clinical interests include mitral valve repair, reconstruction and replacement; tricuspid valve reconstruction and replacement; pulmonary valve replacement; aortic root work; and beating heart off- or on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting.
Dr. Drake received her bachelor of science in nursing at Valparaiso (Ind.) University. She then earned a master of science and doctorate of nursing practice at Hammond and Westville, Ind.-based Purdue University Northwest. Her clinical interests include heart failure disease, arrhythmias/electrophysiology and heart failure/cardiomems.
