Glen Dale, W.Va.-based Reynolds Memorial Hospital, owned by Morganstown, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine, plans to build five new operating rooms in a $20 million expansion, WTRF reported Oct. 6.
The project was made possible by a $7.5 million donation from the Episcopal Church.
Mike Ortiz, vice president of support services for the hospital, told the publication no surgeries will have to be delayed during construction.
The new rooms will be 600 square feet each compared to the hospital's current operating rooms, which are 250 to 300 square feet.
Construction is slated to wrap in 2024.
