Thedacare begins construction on $100M medical center renovation

Construction has begun on Thedacare Regional Medical Center-Neenah (Wis.), which is a $100 million investment and includes an expansion of the emergency department.

The additions include another helipad, improved space for stroke patients, updated operating rooms, a renovated birth center, a new environment for the women's center and more access for behavioral health services, according to a Jan. 3 news release from the health system.

A space also will be created for the incoming Graduate Medical Education Program.

The next phase of construction is slated for spring 2022, and completion is slated for fall 2023.

"We are intentionally planning construction phases to allow for patients and families to continue accessing critical services with ease," said Lynn Detterman, senior vice president of ThedaCare South Region.
