Fort Worth, Texas-based John Peter Smith Hospital is planning to expand its psychiatric emergency room, CBS affiliate DFW reported Oct. 26.
The new facility will add 60 additional care spaces for patients and is part of a bond package approved by voters in 2017 to improve the hospital. It is the only psychiatric ER in Tarrant County.
Construction is slated to begin before the end of 2022. It was initially delayed because of the pandemic.
