New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health opened the third phase of its Lenox Greenwich Village facility in New York City and also announced the addition of five new physician practices in the city.
The new phase includes a $25 million, 30,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center containing six operating rooms, two procedure rooms and 23 recovery beds. It also houses an $8 million, 14,750-square-foot medical pavilion and conference center that will be used to host community events, workshops and support groups.
The five physician practices will include specialists in cardiology, neurology, endocrinology and neurosurgery.
"While our hospitals continue to meet the acute-care needs of our patients, the key to keeping our communities healthy is providing a range of primary and multispecialty care in the neighborhoods in which our patients live and work," said Thomas McGinn, MD, deputy physician-in-chief and senior vice president of physician network operations for Northwell Health.
