Sanford, N.C.-based Central Carolina Hospital is planning a $10.6 million renovation and expansion to its emergency department, The Rant reported Sept. 28.
Existing patient rooms, hallway beds, clinical decision rooms and fast-track areas will all be upgraded. The entire 13,000-square-foot department will also be reorganized.
The project is designed to improve patient and staff flow as well as lower wait times.
Construction is set to begin later this year. Specific renovation and expansion design plans will be revealed at that time.
