Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital completed a project to improve energy efficiency throughout its facility. The project is expected to save the hospital more than $220,000 annually, according to auburnpub.com.
The project, completed by energy services company Trane, updated the hospital's heating and cooling system. The new energy-efficient comfort system reduces the hospital's heating and cooling use by 50 percent.
The $220,000 in cost savings will be reinvested into patient care, hospital officials said.
"Improving the building's air systems improves our bottom line and increases comfort for patients and staff. We put the savings back into the hospital to ensure the best patient experience possible," Auburn Community Hospital spokesperson Matt Chadderdon told auburnpub.com.
