Nevada system opens $230M hospital

West Henderson (Nev.) Hospital, a $230 million acute care hospital part of Las Vegas-based The Valley Health System, opened Dec. 3.

The 150-bed hospital offers cardiac care, neurology care, emergency care with 36 ER bays, surgery, inpatient care for medical needs like pneumonia, and gastroenterology, according to a Dec. 3 news release.

"We have been planning for this day for more than three years," Chris Loftus, CEO of West Henderson Hospital, said in the release. "That includes creating a master plan that will eventually build out to 450 private patient rooms and additional emergency department bays and procedural areas to meet the community’s needs."

The Valley Health System comprises seven acute care hospitals, physician practices, multiple outpatient services and more than 9,000 employees, according to its website.
