Montana hospital plans for new facility

Billings, Mont.-based St. Vincent Healthcare will replace its facility on its current campus, located in the state's largest medical corridor, the Daily Montanan reported Aug. 21.

Construction is expected to take at least five years, but the hospital will continue to operate during that time.

Although many design details have yet to be decided, each patient room will have the ability to be converted into an ICU.

Additionally, the hospital has 253 beds but plans to grow to 295.

The hospital also plans to create larger spaces for patient visitors, and its neonatal intensive care unit is also likely to be moved closer to the St. Vincent's labor and delivery center.
