Memorial Hermann SugarLand (Texas) Hospital has opened its new 155,000-square-foot, six-story tower after 27 months of construction, according to the Sugar Land Sun.
The patient tower is the hallmark of a greater $93 million expansion project on the Sugar Land campus.
The new tower houses 60 beds, including an expanded intensive care unit and a 16-bed intermediate care unit, according to the report. It was built with further expansion in mind, as the fifth floor is a shell space that can accommodate 30 additional patient rooms and four operating rooms, according to the report. The building was also built with a foundation and infrastructure to support the addition of four more floors at a later date.
