Kaiser Permanente to open sports medicine clinic

A new sports medicine clinic within the Sacramento Kings basketball stadium Golden 1 Center in Sacramento is open for business as of Oct. 17. The 18,000-square-foot center was created by Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.

The center includes eight exam rooms, nine physical therapy rooms and an onsite X-ray. The facility also features a 7,000-square-foot gym where patients can work with physical trainers on sport-specific rehabilitation. Officials stress that the facility is a medical referral-based sports treatment center and not a workout center, according to the article.

The cost of the clinic was not disclosed. Officials said the health system is also developing a medical office and a new hospital in the Sacramento area, according to the article.
