Intermountain HealthCare's new full-service children's hospital campus in Lehi, Utah, is opening for patient care Feb. 12.
The Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital, Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Campus includes an outpatient center, trauma center, medical office building, and five-story, 66-bed children's hospital. It is the second campus to Intermountain's first Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, which has 289 beds and dates back to 1922.
The additional campus in Lehi marks "the most significant boost in children's healthcare delivery in the Intermountain West in more than 100 years, when the main hospital was founded in Salt Lake City," Katy Welkie, CEO of Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital and vice president of Intermountain Children's Health, said in a news release.
The campus expansion is part of Intermountain's plan to build the nation's model health system for children, launched in 2020, and centered on an investment of at least $600 million from Intermountain and community philanthropic support. The new campus is named for the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, which made a $50 million gift to Intermountain in 2020.
The new hospital campus will bring nearly 1,000 jobs to Lehi in Utah County, which is one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation.
