Cone Health opens renovated heart hospital

Cone Health opened its new and renovated heart center after a $34.2 million investment.

The Alamance Regional Medical Center, which fully opened April 22, has 24 pre- and post-procedure spaces and two catheterization labs, a hospital spokesperson told Becker's. The renovation added 14,000 square feet and two catheterization labs and updated the existing space. The renovations added capacity to treat more complex heart and vascular diseases, including to put in more heart devices and do cardiac CT.

About 30 staff members work at the facility and Cone Health told the Triad Business Journal reported May 1, it hopes the renovations will help recruit more.
