Children's National receives anonymous $96M gift

Washington, D.C.-based Children's National Hospital received a $96 million donation from an anonymous donor family to strengthen its pediatric brain tumor research and care.

The donation is one of the largest the hospital has ever received. Children's National will use the new capital to fund clinical trials with its global partners, according to a June 21 Children's National news release.

"This incredible partnership will lift up one of the nation's top pediatric brain tumor programs into the stratosphere," Kurt Newman, MD, president and CEO of Children's National, said in the release. "It will immediately propel our best-in-class research and care, allowing us to bring new therapies to children with brain tumors. This fundamentally changes the healthcare journey and long-term outcomes for children and their families."
