Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Medical Center opened 20 new operating rooms as part of its "hospital of the future" project, masslive.com reported March 13.
The project cost $170 million. The new operating rooms will include technology that can alert a patient's family members through an app of the patient's progress during surgery.
The new operating rooms are part of the hospital's $296 million "hospital of the future" modernization and expansion project first announced in 2012.
