Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Round Rock (Texas) broke ground Jan. 11 on a construction project that will expand the labor and delivery unit, add a neonatal intensive care unit and add more operating rooms, according to ABC affiliate KVUE.
The project is expected to be completed by 2026.
"Williamson County has grown by over 100,000 residents in the past five years; the judge mentioned that a 100 people a day move to Williamson. We ourselves have seen over a 30 percent increase in our volume during that time period, so this is truly an expansion to meet that need," Drew Bennett, vice president of operations at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Round Rock, told KVUE.
