Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health plans to build a 26-bed hospital in the Charlotte neighborhood of Steele Creek, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.
The health system applied to build the facility with one general operating room, one operating room for C-sections and one procedure room. The project moves beds and one operating room from Atrium Health Pineville in Charlotte. The new facility is expected to cost $53.8 million.
The hospital would be built and added to Atrium's existing Steele Creek campus, which comprises a standalone emergency room and imaging services.
Pending approval, the construction would end spring of 2024, according to the report.
Earlier this year, state regulators approved Novant Health's plans for a 186,000-square-foot, $179 million, 32-bed hospital in Steele Creek, according to the Business Journal.
