Buffalo-based VA Western New York Healthcare Center's roof caught on fire Thursday evening, resulting in $10,000 worth of damages, reports The Buffalo News.
The hospital received a call around 7:30 p.m. Thursday from someone saying they noticed flames on the roof. Following the call, the Buffalo Fire Department was dispatched to the facility.
Since the fire was contained to the roof, there were no damages to the inside of the building. No patients were harmed and the facility was not evacuated during the incident.
"Full operations continued throughout, so that was a positive thing," a spokeswoman for the VA hospital Evangeline Conley told The Buffalo News.
