5 hospitals set to open in 2025

Although many hospitals closed in the past year due to financial difficulties and other challenges, several health systems are expanding services with new hospitals set to open in 2025.

Here are five hospitals on track to open this year, as previously reported by Becker's:

1. Prosser (Wash.) Memorial Health will open a new $125 million hospital on Feb. 1. Construction began in 2022 after the health system determined building a new hospital was more cost-effective than renovating its previous facility.

2. Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health plans to build a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility in Wesley Chapel, Fla., in 2025.

3. AdventHealth Minneola (Fla.), a $271 million hospital with 80 beds, is scheduled to open in late 2025. Construction began in 2023 and the facility reached its full height of four stories in September.

4. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health broke ground on the 30-bed Atrium Health Lake Norman in 2023, with an expected opening later in 2025. "We are proud to say we are on track and look forward to serving our community by providing additional access to high-quality healthcare in 2025," an Atrium Health spokesperson said in a statement shared with Becker's.

5. Methodist Celina (Texas) Medical Center, part of Dallas-based Methodist Health System, is scheduled to open in spring 2025. It will be the city's first full-service hospital, with 51 beds and space to expand to more than 100, according to the health system's website.
