AdventHealth Apopka (Fla.) is planning to invest $26.3 million to boost the number of its beds, the Orlando Business Journal reported Oct. 11.
The expansion will build out the fifth floor of the hospital with 38 new acute beds and four dialysis bays, bringing the total number of beds to 158.
The move comes in response to a rise in admissions. In 2022, admissions rose 20% since 2019. The project is expected to be complete by May next year.
