Construction has begun on a $220 million expansion that would double the size of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Round Rock (Texas), according to the Austin American-Statesman.
The project will add a five-story tower, renovate the existing hospital building and install new technology. The labor and delivery unit will be expanded. More surgical and endoscopy suites will be added, as well as medical/surgical beds.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Round Rock has 101 beds, but the new number has not been determined, according to the report. The hospital will also get a level 2 neonatal intensive care unit for babies who need extra support.
The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
