Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md., opened its new patient care facility — The South Building — on the Kevin J. Sexton Campus this month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The seven-story, 232,000-square-foot building is the largest expansion the hospital's campus has seen in more than 50 years. It features 150 private rooms in critical care, intermediate care and medical-surgery units.
"Our expansion, by providing all private rooms, will permit us to honor the unique care needs of each individual we serve as we safeguard their privacy," said Judith Rogers, president of Holy Cross Hospital. "Our expansion will evidence our mission in a way that will be very personal to each patient we care for and will not only provide a safe and comfortable environment for our patients but for their families as well."
