Here are nine capital projects at hospitals and health systems that were recently announced, started, changed or completed, beginning with the most recent.
1. Irving, Texas-based CHRISTUS Health announced it will make an initial investment of $10 million to increase its service offerings from 27 locations to more than 40 locations, adding urgent care centers, outpatient clinics, primary care practices and specialty care.
2. The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati announced plans to begin construction in October on a multimillion-dollar medical center.
3. Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System and Avalon Development Holding proposed new hospital facilities for Valencia County, N.M.
4. Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health is moving forward with plans to build a 100-bed hospital in Terrell, Texas.
5. University Medical Center New Orleans, part of New Orleans-based LCMC Health System, officially opened in early August.
6. New York City-based NYU Langone Medical Center announced plans to build an ambulatory care center and freestanding emergency department in Brooklyn at a Long Island College Hospital ED site that closed in 2014
7. As part of a $1.5 billion expansion and renovation plan, Boston Children's Hospital announced plans to add nearly 50 beds to its outpatient facility in Waltham, Mass.
8. MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in the District of Colombia is pursuing plans to construct a new $400 million hospital building on the school's campus.
9. South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, N.Y., received final regulatory approval from the New York State Department of Health to open Long Island's first off-campus, hospital-based emergency department.
