Jason Ropell, who led the film division of Amazon Studios, is leaving the company, according to CNBC.
Amazon did not disclose why Mr. Ropell is leaving. He will remain with the company for a few months with Ted Hope and Matt Newman assuming his duties while a permanent replacement is sought.
Under Mr. Roppel, Amazon Studios' film division became a major player in Hollywood, with "Manchester by the Sea" becoming the first film produced by a streaming service to earn an Academy Award nomination for best picture in 2017.
