Tesla built 34,494 vehicles in the first production quarter of 2018, which is four times more than it produced one quarter prior, according to CNBC.
The company did not meet its goal of building 2,500 Model 3 sedans per week, though it built a total of 9,766 Model 3s throughout the production quarter. Tesla's new production goal is to assemble 5,000 vehicles per week by the end of the second quarter.
Tesla also set records for deliveries in the first quarter, delivering a total of 29,980 vehicles, including 8,180 Model 3s.
