Microsoft released earnings results July 19 for the second quarter of fiscal year 2018 ended June 30.

1. Microsoft reported $30.1 billion in revenue, up 17 percent year-over-year.
2. Azure, the company's cloud business, reported revenue increased 89 percent year-over-year. The company did not disclose total revenue generated by Azure.
3. Microsoft's Productivity and Business Processes segment, which encompasses Dynamics, LinkedIn and Office, reported $9.67 billion in revenue, up 13 percent.
4. Excluding certain items, earnings per share were $1.13.
5. Microsoft stock spiked to more than 4 percent above the closing price of $104.40, according to CNBC.
