In-N-Out Burger files restraining order against imposter CEO

Irvine, Calif.-based fast food chain In-N-Out Burger filed a restraining order March 23 against a man who entered several of the chain's Los Angeles County restaurants claiming to be the company's CEO, according to the Orange County Register.

The man entered one In-N-Out restaurant March 13, insisting he was the company's acting CEO and telling employees to make him a cheeseburger and fries for a taste test.

The man was identified as Cody Roeder, who posts YouTube videos under the name "Trollmunchies." Mr. Roeder posted the video taken inside the In-N-Out and left after staff called police, according to CBS Los Angeles.

On March 14, Mr. Roeder went to a second In-N-Out restaurant and posed as the CEO again, demanding to speak to the manager about the contamination of the food.

In-N-Out filed a lawsuit against Mr. Roeder, seeking damages of more than $25,000. An In-N-Out spokesperson said the fast food chain is not putting up with people coming into their store trying to promote themselves on social media.

"We have recently seen an increase of visitors to our stores, who are not customers but instead are intentionally disruptive and who then try to promote themselves through social media," the spokesperson wrote in a company statement. "These visitors have unfortunately used deceit, fraud and trespass to their own advantage, and in each instance, they have attempted to humiliate, offend or otherwise make our customers or associates uncomfortable."
