Coca-Cola is in serious talks to create cannabis-infused beverages with Canadian company Aurora Cannabis, multiple sources familiar with the matter told BNN Bloomberg.
The products would be a groundbreaking move into the marijuana sector by one of America's largest consumer brands. Coca-Cola and Aurora Cannabis are "pretty advanced down the path" of a deal, according to the sources, who asked for anonymity given the confidentiality of the matter.
The sources said the cannabis-infused beverages would aim to ease inflammation, pain and cramping. While estimates differ, the consumer CBD market is expect to expand to $2.1 billion by 2020, up from $202 million in 2015, according to the report.
