Broadcom unveils $121B bid for Qualcomm: 3 things to know

Broadcom extended a $121 billion deal to Qualcomm in a final offer to acquire all outstanding shares of Qualcomm for $82 per share.

Here are three things to know about the offer.

1. The new offer aims to ramp up pressure on Qualcomm to engage in negotiations with Broadcom.

2. The deal is premised on Qualcomm acquiring NXP Semiconductors for $110 a share or the transaction being terminated. Broadcom's offer is also premised on Qualcomm not adjourning or delaying its annual meeting after March 6.

3. Broadcom believes the proposed transaction could reach completion roughly 12 months after signing a definitive agreement.
