Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center in Independence, La., is set to close its ophthalmology clinic, according to a Q93.3 report.
The clinic is scheduled to close September 28. The state hospital is closing the ophthalmology clinic, as well as its podiatry clinic, due to a recent reduction in the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage rate the Louisiana receives from the federal government.
Lallie Kemp's ophthalmology clinic saw more than 2,100 patient visits last year, according to the report.
