North American Partners in Anesthesia, one of the largest single-specialty anesthesia management companies in the United States, has announced the release of a new whitepaper for hospital executives and administrators which focuses on developing and transitioning to an anesthesia department aligned with the hospital's mission.
The whitepaper — "Playbook for a Simple & Sustainable Anesthesia Department Transition" — is the first in a series of whitepapers from NAPA focusing on how anesthesia can improve operating room efficiency, according to a company news release.
"It is no longer good enough for an anesthesia department to provide excellent clinical quality. Hospitals expect the department to drive OR efficiency," said Timothy Dowd, MD, managing partner and chairman of NAPA, according to the news release. "This paper outlines the services and results a hospital should expect from their anesthesia department, and what to expect in a leadership transition."
