Marine Corps Searches for Smaller, More Rugged Anesthesia Machines

The Marine Corps is looking to find smaller, more portable anesthesia machines to lighten the load for medical teams in expeditionary environments, according to the Marine Corps Times.

The Marine Corps Systems Command is looking for a "field rugged and modernized" anesthesia machine that weighs less than 10 pounds and fits into the palm of a hand to replace older DOVs currently in use.

The Marine Corps will seek FDA approval for a replacement system, which could be adopted by all services.
