UnitedHealthcare, Delaware Valley ACO partner up

Philadelphia-based Delaware Valley Accountable Care Organization has signed another accountable care agreement with a commercial payer, following its deal with Aetna in February.

This time around DVACO is collaborating with UnitedHealthcare to provide coordinated care for more than 17,000 patients who have a UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored plan, according to Philadelphia Business Journal.

Under the deal, the organizations will share technology and data to better manage patients' chronic health conditions and improve health outcomes, according to the report. DVACO hospitals and physicians will have the opportunity to share in savings if they achieve their financial and quality goals, according to the report.
