The Memorial Hospital to launch ACO with Western Healthcare Alliance

The board of The Memorial Hospital, based in Craig, Colo., unanimously approved a recommendation from CEO John Rossfeld to become an accountable care organization through Western Healthcare Alliance, a Grand Junction, Colo.-based alliance of rural hospitals, according to the Craig Daily Press.

"It's going to be a huge learning process, and that's why the federal government is putting these funds out to help change that whole process and move it forward," Mr. Rossfeld said, according to the report. He said the focus of the initiative will be to find the best level of care that cuts down on hospital visits yet improves overall heath.
