Humana and Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health System's existing accountable care organization announced Thursday an agreement to provide coordinated, cost-effective care for Humana Medicare Advantage beneficiaries.
The ACO, called NewHealth Collaborative, will provide Humana Medicare Advantage beneficiaries with coordinated care led by a primary care physician. The value-based agreement puts a focus on preventive care in addition to current treatments by leveraging predictive analytics, chronic disease management and wellness programs.
NewHealth Collaborative is the only Ohio-based ACO yet to achieve savings under the Medicare Shared Savings Program, according to a statement.
